There good news for over 900 residents and other property owners who have been experiencing ongoing difficulties over water and other services in the Westbury estates.
Clare County Council has announced that its to take charge of the extensive housing developments in South East Clare- excluding a portion of an unfinished development at Bruchan and Griannan
The move follows extensive negotiations with bondholders who held bonds on behalf of McInerney Homes Ltd and Chieftain Construction Ltd, both of whom have been in receivership and liquidation for some time.
From January 21st the local authority will take responsibility for water services – while other issues regarding the open spaces and roads will be dealt with on an interim basis for now.
Deputy Mayor of Clare and local Labour Councillor Pascal Fitzgerald says residents in Westbury can now look forward to a better quality of life.
