The Cabinet gathers later to discuss job creation – with the Taoiseach expected to tell ministers it has to be their number one focus now.
Yesterday the Governor of the Central Bank Patrick Honohan predicted that employment will barely begin to grow this year.

There are more than 430-thousand people on the live register and unemployment is at 14.6 percent – which is as bad as when the coalition came to office.
Ministers are expected to be told to come up with job creation policies and play their part in tackling the issue of unemployment.
