And the Department of Agriculture was asked to assist in further test results in December the results of which came back days before Christmas.

The Taoiseach says he’s confident Irish food manufacturers can escape any damage caused by the horse meat scandal.
Tests are continuing at one of the suppliers involved to see if horse DNA is still in the manufacturing system.
