Tourism representatives are confident Clare will benefit hugely both economically and socially from the Gathering this year.
The county has the fifth largest number of events taking place across the country, 136 of them are registered but its estimated the actual figure is in the region of 250.

Funding is being provided for 93 festivals and gatherings -64 from the government and 26 through the Clare Gathering Steering Committee.
