Clare County Council has been awarded over 1.6 million euro for the management and maintenance of the county’s national roads network.
Just over half the total moneys, which have been administered to the NRA, is to be used to improve a number of routs including the N 67 through Ennistymon, Kilrush and Kilkee as well as works on the N68 in West Clare.

In addition four million euro has been administered to Galway County Council for the purchase of land along the Gort -to Tuam Motorway as well as upgrade works on the Crusheen to Gort bypass.
Clare’s allocation is down on previous years.
