Clare’s most famous natural landmark has been voted the best place to visit in Ireland in a national tourism awards scheme.
The Cliffs ofMoher has scooped the overall prize in the CIE Tours International 23rdAnnual Awards of Excellence.
The award winners have been selected following feedback from over 22,000 people.
Visitors to Clare also praised Dromoland Castle, which was voted Ireland’s best 5-star hotel, and the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis which received a merit award.
Meanwhile, two North Clare hotels have each won Gold Medals in the Irish Accommodation Services Institutes’s National Accommodation Awards.
The Armada Hotel in Spanish Point was honoured in the 4-Star Category while Hotel Doolin received a Gold Medal in the Boutique Hotels section.
