A Clare Senator has called for the extension of a fuel rebate for hauliers to coach and bus companies.
As part of last month’s budget, the government announced a scheme whereby hauliage companies can claim monies back on their fuel expenses, and North Clare Fine Gael representative Martin Conway has called for the program to be expanded to include passenger transport firms.

The Finance Minister says he has no plans to follow the suggestion, but will keep the matter under review.
Senator Conway says coach operators are pressing for the rebate, and he feels their calls should be heeded.
