Warm tributes after death of country oldest woman

Tributes are being paid to Ireland’s oldest person, Clare Native Annie Kett, who has died aged 107.

Born Annie Hayes in 1905 in The Glen, Killaloe, the late Mrs. Kett trained as a nurse in London before moving to Kilkishen where she farmed with her late husband John and raised three children

She passed away at in Clarina, Co. Limerick on Sunday and is survived by her Son Pat in Clooney, daughter Peggy in Limerick as well as 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

Her daughter Peggy told Clare FM that Annie died peacefully  – and will return to her native Killaloe in line with her final prayers and wishes
