A Clare Labour Councillor has criticised the government’s decision to seek over 700 million in further savings in the health sector.
Shannon Councillor Greg Duff fears the plan, which was announced last month and provides for 4,000 workers to leave the HSE this year, will impact on front-line services.

He outlined his those fears at this week’s meeting of Shannon Town Council, in tabling a motion which called on his fellow members to condemn the government’s health policies.
The Labour representative says he, and other party members, are disappointed that the junior coalition partner has stood over such a plan.
