Two people appeared before a special sitting of Kilrush District Court over the weekend charged in connection with a burglary in North Clare.
Giving evidence gardaí said the two were detained in the Kilnaboy area in the early hours of Friday following a break-in at a premises in Lahinch several hours earlier.
The court also heard that the vehicle they were travelling in had been reported stolen in the Ballinasloe area of Galway on Tuesday.
The pair, both in their thirties were charged with burglary – while one was also charged with the unauthorised use of a vehicle.
One was remanded in custody, the other released on bail with strict conditions – including that he doesn’t re-enter County Clare.
