The Conclave of Cardinals to elect a new pope after Benedict the 16th steps down later this month, will begin from March 15th.
Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said the beginning of the conclave cannot be before that date.

Meanwhile,the Pope’s been thanking the public for their love and prayers – saying his decision to resign was "for the good of the Church".
This afternoon’s Ash Wednesday Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica is Benedict the 16th’s first public event since announcing he’s to retire at the end of the month.
