Clare’s Labour TD remains hopeful that Clare’s rural transport links will not be affected by a government review into their future.
Fears have been expressed for the future of Clare Accessible Transport, under coalition plans to abolish 35 community based companies nationwide and replace them with 8 regional authorities run by county councils.
Deputy Michael McNamara says he’s hopeful Clare’s rural transport links will remain in place, saying it’s important they’re properly funded, and has vowed to press upon various Departments the need for this to occur.
He also says reviews like this are necessary to ensure a strong level of service in all parts of Ireland
