Public workers on 60 thousand plus facing cuts under Croke Park extension

Public sector workers earning more than 60 thousand euro a year could be facing pay cuts under new proposals put forward by the Government at the Croke Park extension talks.

The Irish Independent says both sides are attempting to hammer out a threshold figure for wage reduction, believed to be around 65-thousand euro.

The Government wants to make savings of 1-billion euro through cuts to the public sector pay roll and changes to work practices.
