There are calls for major upgrade works to be carried out on the Quin Road in Ennis as problems over pedestrian access on the route are now being dealt with.
Work on constructing a new foot bridge adjacent to the existing humpback structure near the Railway Station is now underway with the 400 thousand euro project due to be completed by May.

It will provide a dedicated path for both pedestrians and cyclists who currently have to use the existing narrow road to access the train station or businesses along the Quin Road.
Green Party Councillor Brian Meaney says the focus now must be on improving access on the main road itself.
