The Minister for Education will address primary school teachers at the INTO annual conference in Cork this morning, as opposition mounts to the Croke Park 2 proposals.
Delegates have warned that Minister Ruairi Quinn can expect a frosty reception – as anger over cuts to education and reductions in pay and allowances dominate the agenda.
The Irish National Teachers Organisation has made no recommendation to its members on Croke Park 2 – and a postal ballot is ongoing.
But a significant number of INTO delegates have voiced their anger and opposition to the deal.
Whilst the ASTI has voted overwhelmingly in favour of a motion calling on members to reject the proposals at it’s conference in Wexford.
The TUI has already voted No.
