16 Clare coastal spots included in Atlantic Way route

Tourists visiting Clare will be encouraged to check out 16 of the county’s coastal tourist sites as part of a new initiative for the West of Ireland.

Junior Tourism Minister Michael Ring has unveiled the final route of the Wild Atlantic Way, which will encourage visitors to drive at least part of a 2,500km driving route stretching from Cork to Donegal.

The route takes in much of Clare’s coastline, including sites like Scattery Island, Loop Head, the Cliffs of Moher and Ballyvaughan.

Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey feels the initiative will be of benefit to Clare.
