Clare Government TD Pat Breen has rejected claims the Agriculture Minister was slow in addressing the fodder crisis and its impact on farmers nationwide.
Yesterday Simon Coveney announced 1 million scheme to cover some of the cost of imported fodder for farm animals.

The crisis has emerged following the wettest summer on record, which was followed by extended wintry conditions and has resulted in poor growth conditions and a demand for extra fodder
Farming organisations have welcomed the new government scheme but feel the government should have acted sooner.
