Gardai in Shannon have arrested a man in connection with the theft of paintings and other items – which are the property of the Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
According to a statement from gardai in the past few minutes, the items were taken from a storage facility in Limerick.

As part of a joint operation involving officers from Shannon, The National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and gardai from Naas, one man in his 40’s was arrested in Clare this morning.
He’s being held at Shannon Garda Station under Section Four of teh Criminal Justice Act
