A 34 year old- jailed for hijacking a four wheel drive at knife point in West Clare – remains serious injured in hospital following a hammer attack in Limerick.
Patrick or Paddy Barnes of Patrickswell and formerly of Knockalough, Kilmihil was attacked in Limerick City yesterday and sustained head injuries.

He was initial treated at Dooradoyle but has now been transferred to Cork.
In 2010 the 34 year old was jailed for stealing a jeep at knife point in Kilmihil and subsequently crashing it in a pedestrianised area of Ennis – The court heard he had only just been released from a six year sentence when the incident occurred
