Security increase at barracks after London attack

The British Government emergency committee Cobra is to meet this morning to discuss the brutal murder of a man in South East London yesterday.

Extra security has been deployed to military bases after the man, reported to be a serving British soldier, was hacked to death in Woolwich in south east London, in what’s being treated as a terrorist attack.

Scotland Yard says counter-terror officers are leading the investigation and two men who were shot at the scene have been arrested.

The British Prime Minister David Cameron has described the killing as "truly shocking"  – he says terrorists won’t win.
