The first international treaty regulating the multibillion-dollar global arms trade will be signed by a number of countries, including Ireland, in New York this evening
The landmark agreement means that states, who sign up to the Treaty, will be prohibited from exporting arms to countries, if they know the weapons will be used to commit gross violations of human rights.
