Fifty years after US President John F Kennedy visited Shannon Airport, his sister jets into the Mid West this morning.
Jean Kennedy Smith is the last surviving sibling of President Kennedy, who fatefully said he would ‘see old Shannon’s face again’ when he departed from there on June 29, 1963.

The former US Ambassador to Ireland has been among the members of the Kennedy clan who visited Ireland in recent days, fifty years on from that historic visit.
