A navy dive operation’s underway to recover the body of a man who’s car plunged over the cliffs in Kilkee.
A major emergency operation was launched shortly after 12.30 this morning when the vehicle was spotted entering the water near Burns Cove.

The search from Kilkee to Georges Head involved rescue crews from Kilkee, Clare Fire Services, Gardai and the Shannon Coastguard helicopter which pinpointed the location of the car and its occupant – believed to a father of two.
