Councillor claims fears over dangerous road falling on deaf ears

An Ennis West Councillor has claimed that his safety concerns about a stretch of one of the county’s busiest roads are ‘falling on deaf ears’.

The comments from Independent representative James Breen come after a two-car accident near Kilnamona Cross on Sunday morning left four people injured, including a pregnant woman.

Councillor Breen says 13 cars have left a portion of the N85 Ennis-Lahinch Road which he has dubbed the ‘ugly mile’.

He says it’s vital that motorists along the road are warned of it’s dangers.
