Ban Ki-Moon ads his voice to Syria condemnation

The U.N. Secretary-General has added his voice to the global condemnation of Wednesday’s alleged chemical weapons attack on the outskirts of Damascus.

It’s claimed more than 1-thousand people died – the Assad regime denies it was involved.

Ban Ki-Moon says "such a crime against humanity should result in serious consequences for the perpetrator."

Speaking in Seoul, he says the U.N. team currently in Syria must be allowed to investigate.

Meanwhile,

One million children are now known to have been displaced by the conflict in Syria.

UNICEF and the UNHCR – the UN’s refugee agency – have described the situation as the largest humanitarian crisis in history.

Aoife McDonnell of the UNHCR is working in a refugee camp in bordering country Jordan.
