Brian Cowen has said sorry for his part in Ireland’s economic crash.
But the former Taoiseach, who was speaking last night during a rare public appearance, says he cannot be blamed for the collapse of international markets and banks.

He also rejected comments made by former Taoiseach Enda Kenny – that there had been an ‘axis of collusion’ between the state and Anglo Irish Bank.
His apology comes in the wake of TG4 interview which is to air next month in which he said his government never saw the crash coming and didn’t have a plan B.
