HSE Investigate Faulty Ambulance

The National Ambulance Service has launched an investigation after an ambulance carrying a patient from Cork to Dublin for a lung transplant, ground to a halt at Newlands Cross on the outskirts of Dublin.

The incident happened on Thursday, when the ambulance was being given a garda escort from Cork to a Dublin hospital.

It’s not clear whether the ambulance ran out of diesel or had a mechanical problem.

The patient walked from the ambulance to the garda car and was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the Health Service Executive says it is looking into the matter to find out what happened.
