The seizure of weapons in the South East Clare area may lead to the arrest of a dissident republican in the area.
It’s reported that Gardai in Limerick expect to make an arrest in the coming days following the discovery of a major arms dump near Meelick at tthe weekend.

Grenades, electronic detonators, timing devices for car bombs, balaclavas, and 1,000 rounds of ammunition were among the many items seized in a wooded area near Windy Gap, Meelick and an army bomb disposal team attended the scene.
It’s believed the weapons are linked to a Real IRA group in Limerick and though they may have been there for many years, Daily Mirror Crime reporter Cathal McMahon says they could have been planned for use in future attacks.
