The head of the Clare Garda Division says there’s ‘no doubt’ that gangs from outside of the county are at least partly responsible for a recent spike in burglaries across the county.
Figures released by Clare Gardai show a 5% drop in crime in the county in the first eight months of this year, with drop-offs recorded in most categories of crime including burglaries.

However, Clare’s Chief Superintendent John Kerin says that’s despite a spike in August which has continued into September.
