Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a former member of the force in Dublin.
57-year-old Seamus Marren from Clonsilla – who retired from Cabra Garda Station in 2011 – died at Connolly Memorial Hospital yesterday.

Gardai are examining if he died as the result of an alleged assault.
However a post mortem examination is currently taking place to determine his exact cause of death.
