Security measures are to be put in place around the Irish troops stationed in Syria, after they came under fire yesterday in the Golan Heights.
Members of the Irish Defence Forces returned fire before safely returning to their base.

One Irish soldier received injuries which are not believed to be too serious and their vehicles sustained minor damage.
