Two sitting Ennistymon Councillors are due to selected to contest their seats next year, so the real competition at tonight’s convention in Spanish Point is between 3 current Councillors and three party hopefuls along seeking a nomination.

Meanwhile the Fianna Fail party selected 4 local election candidates in the Killaloe area without contest at the weekend.

Sitting Councillor Pat Hayes from Caher, and Tony O’Brien from Killaloe who lost his seat in 2009 were both put on the party ticket along with Liam Wiley from Bodyke, the son of former Councillor Colm Wiley and Alan O’Callaghan from Kilmurray.
