Security is tight as preparations for Nelson Mandela’s lying-in-state continue in Pretoria.
Thousands gave the cortege a guard of honour, as it was driven through the city, before Mandela lies in state for three days.

At home, the South African Ambassador to Ireland will appear before the Oireachtas Joint Commitee on Foreign Affairs and Trade later to mark Nelson Mandela’s death.
Mr Jeremiah Ndou’s presence at the committee will give members an opportunity to offer sympathies to the Mandela family and the wider South African nation.
