Security measures are being increased in Belfast city centre after an explosion last night which could have killed or seriously injured people.
The incident in the – Cathedral Quarter area – came after a telephone bomb warning had been made – and hundreds of people were being evacuated just before 7 o’clock.
No-one was injured.
There’s been widespread condemnation – the Taoiseach Enda Kenny has described the incident as "a mindless attack, carried out by people whose depraved agenda cannot, and will not, be allowed to gain a foothold in Northern Ireland".
Meanwhile, the Northern Secretary says it was a ‘despicable’ attack.
