One in ten people here suffer food poverty, that’s according to new figures published today by Unite and Mandate.
The trade unions are calling on the Government to increase the minimum wage as new research shows that "in-work poverty" is on the rise.
They also want an ‘Emergency Relief Budget’ in the New Year to start reversing cuts to low-income groups.
Donegal, which has the lowest income levels in the country, is worst affected with one-in-nine people reporting food poverty there.
