It’s understood that Shannon-based employees of Lufthansa Technik are not affected by the company’s decision to lay off 400 workers in Dublin.
Staff for the German firm’s plant in Rathcoole were given notice of termination of employment this morning, as the company blames declining revenues and shrinking international market opportunities for it’s decision.

There has been no official comment from Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon, based at the World Aviation Park, but sources have told Clare FM that today’s announcement relates only to operations at Rathcoole.
