Gardai Investigate Fatal Dublin Stabbing

Gardai have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin early this morning.

One man was killed and another seriously injured in the incident in Shankill in South County Dublin. 

Two men in their 20s were found with serious stab wounds at Rathsallagh Park in Shankill, South Dublin at approximately 5:30am this morning. 
 
They were taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where one of the men was pronounced dead shortly after 8 O’clock this morning. 
 
The second man remains in a serious condition in hospital. 
 
Gardai have arrested a man in his early 30s in relation to the incident.
 
He’s being detained at Shankill Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and he can be detained for up to 24 hours. 
 
Meanwhile, a post mortem is taking place today on the body of a man found at a house near Courtown Harbour in County Wexford on Christmas Eve. 
 
Gardai say a man who was detained in connection with the death was released without charge last night.
