Renewed Appeal in Unsolved Blackwater Murder

The family of a car dealer murdered in South-East Clare 11 years ago say they still maintain hope that those responsible for the crime will be caught.

39 year old Sean Poland was shot dead during an armed raid at his home in Blackwater, Ardnacrusha on New Year’s Eve 2002, and while several arrests have been made in connection with his killing but no-one’s ever been charged.

The case was the focus of a renewed appeal late last year, and Sean’s sister, Marie Horgan says this has helped them stay positive that someone will be convicted.

Eleven years on from the killing of Sean Poland, Ms Marie Horgan says the family remain hopeful those responsible will be caught and simply can’t give up.

She’s asking anyone with details on what happened that night, no matter how small, to come forward.
