Today marks the first of three days of competition at the Special Olympics Ireland Games for 2014 in Limerick and Clare.
The Bowling competition is based on Ennis over the course of the three days – with volunteers saying their delighted with the welcome they're receiving.
After yesterday's opening ceremony, 15 hundred athletes will take part in 14 sports in Limerick and Ennis between now and Sunday.
Three thousand volunteers are helping the proceedings take place smoothly.
Competitions are being run in a variety of sports from Equestrian to Bowling – here in Clare – to Soccer.
Rugby star and Killaloe man Keith Wood is an ambassador for the cause.
He says the support in the area has been fantastic.
