Ennis Businesses and Gardaí say they're very concerned about the level of robberies in recent weeks.
Arrests have been made into the latest incidents in which cash was taken from a Barber shop on Francis street and a Tanning saloon on Barrack street.
And following a number of other armed raids in the town in the past month, Ennis Chamber of Commerce and Gardaí are urging extra security and vigilance among local businesses.
Buissness people in the wider Ennis area are said to be extremly concerned about violent raids which have occured in the past number of weeks.
At least half a dozen robberies have taken place with some involving a knife and other weapons.
Those involved have been left traumatised – however there's been no reports of any injuries.
The Chief Superintendent is being invited to address to councillors on the the issue in a bid to finding a resolution.
Two arrests have been made in relation to two separate robberies in the town in the past week.
Crime Prevention officer Sgt Joe Downey says bussiness people have a right to conduct their work without fear.
The chamber of commerce is currently putting together a plan of action in relation to the robberies.
President of the body Paddy Darmody says its important bussiness people and locals remain vigilent at all times.
He says its very worrying.
Separately Gardaí are appealing for information on a number of break ins – in the past week in Ennis, O'Callaghans Mills Killaloe, Sixmilebridge and Newmarket on Fergus.
In one incident at Boots in Ennis Gardaí say a suspect has been identified by CCTV while on the Lahinch road a number of electronic items were taken from a private residence.
