Obama Asked To Intervene In Brooks Debacle

Dublin's Lord Mayor says some residents living near Croke Park have contacted the US Embassy asking the US President Barack Obama to intervene in the Garth Brooks' debacle.

Christy Burke says they would like Mr. Obama to speak with the country star and try and convince him to perform at Croke Park.

Last night the Taoiseach intervened in the controversy and urged Dublin City Manager and Dublin's Lord Mayor to meet with the Chief Executive of the Labour Relations Commission today – to try and see if all five Croke Park concerts can be salvaged.

Enda Kenny has ruled out introducing emergency legislation – but Mr. Burke says there's still a possibility Dublin City Manager Owen Keegan could review the conditions of the licensing agreement.
