The family of Edna O'Brien say they would welcome the creation of a writers retreat at her former home.
Drewsborough House in Tuamgraney failed to sell at auction earlier this month, and there are now calls for the state to purchase the building and turn it into a writers retreat and museum.

The property has been vacant for several years and as such requires extensive renovations.
Nephew of Edna O'Brien, Michael Blake, feels the state should acknowledge his aunt's important legacy.
