The Dáil and Seanad have now signed off on laws firming up the future of Shannon Airport.

The State Airports (Shannon Group) Bill 2014 formally passed through the Seanad this week, having already received the approval of TDs.
The final step will now see it presented to President Michael D. Higgins who will sign it, and see it become law.
The bill creates a new Shannon Group company, which will over see the independent Airport as well as the property ownership and management activities of Shannon Commercial Enterprises Limited, as well as the Shannon Heritage and the International Aviation Services Centre
Shannon Airport has welcomed the developments.
