Junior Minister Confident Of Flooding Support For Farmers

The Junior Agriculture Minister has expressed confidence that Clare farmers affected by this year's severe flooding won't be let down by the government.

Minister Tom Hayes was speaking as he visited County Clare, following claims by IFA members in places like Ballynacally, Kildysart and Quilty that they've been abandoned by the state.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney was one of a number of high profile visitors to the affected areas following January and Febuary's storms, but since then landowners says they've received no positive news on flood defence works.

His Junior Minister told Clare FM, that it's a matter for Clare County Council and the OPW to resolve, but he's confident progress will be made.
