The President has signed the Shannon Group Bill into law, the final stage in the Airport’s establishment as an independent facility.
President Higgins signed the legislation on Sunday, a move which has been warmly welcomed by management in Shannon.

The Act sees Shannon Heritage, the Shannon Commercial Enterprises company and International Aviation Services Centre all come under a new umbrella group, along with the Airport itself.
The laws were initially due to be passed last year, but the Chairman of the new Shannon Group Rose Hynes is confident this delay won't see the project side-tracked.
