A strategic review is to be carried out into the body that operates some of Clare's most popular tourist attractions.
Shannon Development, which has been revamped in recent weeks as part of the changes at the airport, is seeking consultants to assess the Shannon Heritage portfolio of sites, which includes Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the Bruan Boru Heritage Centre.

Reports today say the consultants will examine the scope for future commercial development and expansion.
Shannon Heritage employs 260 people each summer season, and welcomes around 380,000 visitors to its attractions.
