Israel says several rockets have been fired over their borders since a ceasefire with Hamas ended.
The 72 hour truce expired at 6am Irish time, although Israeli officials claimed rockets were also fired into the south of the country in the early hours of the morning.

Hamas had warned that military action would resume if Palestinian demands weren't met in talks aimed at extending the ceasefire.
