Clare residents are being urged to make a special effort to give blood over the coming days, in a bid to boost flagging supplies.
A blood clinic takes place at the West County Hotel from 6 until 9 o'clock this evening, and again at the same venue from Monday until Thursday next week.

Aileen Browne, Mid-West Area Manager with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, says it's not unusual for their supplies to be lower than normal at this time of the year.
