A Clare County Councillor says he is hoping to put pressure on the government to meet it's targets of ending homelessness, by spending a night on the streets.
The Midwest Simon Community is hosting a series of sleep outs in Ennis, Kilrush and other locations next month to raise awareness of the growing problem.

In 2012 – 2219 people presented to homeless services in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary – 28% of these were children.
One of those taking part in the event will be Ian Lynch, an Independent West Clare Councillor who is formerly a member of Fine Gael.
