A leading economist has predicted that rents could be set to soar in Clare – potentially adding to the housing crisis here.
Ronan Lyons was speaking in light of a report from Daft-dot-ie which shows a 2.2% increase in rents in Clare, to an average monthly price of 554 euro.

This figure is line with the provincial average – but there are fears that the rate of increase over the next year will be considerably higher as problems currently being experienced in Leinster and Dublin spread west.
